Marine Education Centre

The Marine Education Centre is situated in the Old Keeper's Quarters at the Low Head Lighthouse Precinct. It gives people of all ages the opportunity to learn about, discover and care for the marine environment. There are static displays featuring marine animals and plants, information about Tasmanian lighthouses and marine pollution.

Find Us We are situated at the head of the Tamar River in Northern Tasmania. The Marine Education Centre is located in the grounds of the Low Head Historic site, 496 Low Head Road, Low Head Tasmania, Australia, 7253. Travel along the East Tamar Highway towards George Town, go straight ahead at the Bell Bay round-about and again straight ahead at the round-about in George Town. Follow the road for 5 kms to Low Head. Be aware of the speed limits. Interesting things to see along the way...
Admission Fee
Entry to the Lighthouse grounds and Marine Education Centre is free.
